Aug 03, Sita rated it did not like it Shelves: When i am reading chick-lit, the book doesn’t grab me very often Gossip Girl is the only exception. I godbeesen sufficiently irritated by Lina but I didn’t find her character as entertaining as Penelope; even though she is wicked I wanted to know what she was up to next and I didn’t feel that way about Lina. Who would have thunk it? Filled with backstabbing, manipulation, betrayal and drama, but surprisingly there is more depth than I originally anticipated, there is godbersne, heart, romance and duty to one’s family, station and heart.

I spent a day and a half with Anna Godbersen and The Luxe. How can a proper girl deal with all of these problems and be expected retain her poise?

If you enjoy reading about gossip, drama, backstabbing, period settings and pretty dresses without too much substance every once in a while, I’d recommend this book. Latidos Luxe 1 by Anna Godbersen. The story is told from different perspectives and I was glad for that, I think it made for a more complete story. Even more problems crop up when Elizabeth’s younger sister, Diana, begins to have feelings annz Henry. You don’t really get deep insights into Elizabeth, ostensibly the heroine, and her handsome lover’s thoughts are never known at all. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that this books was set in the present time. Love a good scandal?
